Pool Play and Playoffs

For groups too big for a straight round robin.

1

When you need it

A straight round robin gets unwieldy once a group gets big, too many rounds to get through everyone. Pool play breaks it into smaller, manageable chunks while still ending in one overall winner.

2

Turn on both toggles

Pool play requires Team Mode and Playoffs both switched on in Tournament Structure. Needs at least 4 teams per pool to make sense.

3

Split into pools

Choose 2 or 3 pools. Ballsy divides your teams and runs a separate round robin inside each pool, so everyone plays a full, fair set of games within their group first.

4

Advance to the bracket

Top finishers from each pool move on to a playoff bracket, single or double elimination, your call. The bracket seeds itself automatically from pool standings, no manual seeding required.

5

Play it out

Playoff scores are entered the same way as everything else, and they stay editable the whole time in case of a scoring mistake. Last match is the gold match. Whoever wins that one gets to be insufferable about it for at least a week.
