Bag'o balls.

Everything you need to know. Nothing you don't.

Ballsy takes your group of humans, figures out who plays who, tracks scores, and crowns a winner. No spreadsheets, no coin flips, no one arguing about the bracket. Here's how to run it from start to finish.

1

Format & rules

Sport. Pick Pickleball or Tennis. This sets the default scoring format but you can override it manually either way.

Tournament style. Round Robin means everyone plays everyone (or as many rounds as you set). Ladder Mixer shuffles matchups each round based on previous results, good for casual groups where you want variety over a strict ranking.

Scoring. Choose your main game format: Game to 11 or 15, win by 1 or 2, rally scoring to 15 or 21, or standard tennis sets. You can set a separate format for playoffs and optionally a different one for the gold medal match.

2

Tournament structure

Team mode. Toggle on if people are playing as fixed pairs. Enter team names manually, auto-generate them, or let Ballsy shuffle who plays with who. Chemistry sold separately.

Playoffs. Toggle on to add a playoff bracket after round robin. Choose single or double elimination. The bracket seeds itself from the final standings automatically.

Pool play. Big group? Split into 2 or 3 pools for round robin, then the top finishers from each pool advance to playoffs. Requires team mode and playoffs both enabled.

3

Players & courts

Players. Enter the number of players (or add names directly). Odd numbers are handled. Byes rotate so nobody sits out twice in a row.

Courts. Enter how many courts you have available. Ballsy uses this to figure out how many matches run per round in parallel.

Rounds. Set how many rounds to play. Hit "Suggest" and Ballsy will recommend a number based on your player count and courts so everyone gets a roughly equal number of games.

Court names. Optionally name your courts (e.g. "1, 2, 3" or "Main, Side"). They show up on the scoresheet.

4

Play

Hit Generate and the full schedule appears. Each round shows which players or teams are on which court. Enter scores as matches finish and standings update in real time.

Live view. Switch to Live View from the header to see a clean scoreboard version of the tournament. No editing controls, just scores and standings. Good for throwing on a shared screen at the venue.

QR code and link sharing. At the bottom of the results panel you'll find a QR code and a copyable link. Anyone who scans or taps it sees the live scoreboard on their phone, read-only, no account needed. Scores update as you enter them and viewers just need to refresh to see the latest.

PDF scoresheet. Need something physical? Buy the blank scoresheet ($5, one-time) to get a print-ready PDF with your court layout, all rounds, and a standings tally grid. Generated from your actual tournament setup so the columns match exactly. Preview a sample for free before buying.

The link stays active for 7 days from when the tournament was created. Scores are editable for the first 48 hours, then locked. Download the PDF beforehand if you want a permanent record.

5

Crown someone

Once all round robin scores are in, standings calculate automatically: wins, losses, points for/against, tiebreakers. If playoffs are enabled, the bracket populates itself from the standings and you enter those scores the same way.

The last match is the gold match. Winner takes the crown. You go home without a headache.

Flexible Round-Robin

Any number of players, courts, and rounds. The math is handled. You just show up.

Individual & Team Modes

Solo glory or team glory. Either way, someone's going home with bragging rights.

Automated Pool Play

Big group? Ballsy sorts them into balanced pools without breaking a sweat.

Live Standings & Playoffs

Real-time scores, auto bracket, zero spreadsheets. The crown finds its head on its own.

Printable Score Sheets

One tap to a clean PDF. For the analog holdouts who still trust paper over pixels.

Smart Bye Handling

Odd number of players? Byes rotate fairly. Nobody gets benched twice in a row.
